Tuesday Takeaways Spring Speaker Series

NF Northeast is excited to announce Tuesday Takeaways, a four-part lunch and learn speaker series beginning in February of 2023! These one-hour educational lunch time sessions are geared towards learning about updates and relevant information for our NF community. Please join us for any or all of the following sessions taking place via Zoom the last Tuesday of the month February-May at 12pm EST.

 

Tuesday, February 28th (12pm ET)  Navigating clinicaltrials.gov and The Network Edge

Vanessa Merker, Ph.D. – Are you curious about what clinical trials exist for neurofibromatosis (NF) type 1, NF2 related schwannomatosis (SWN) and SWN? Dr. Merker will explain the best ways to navigate the clinicaltrials.gov website and how to utilize The Network Edge, a publication that summarizes and highlights results of clinical trials/research studies for patients affected by NF & allied disorders.

Tuesday, March 28th (12pm ET) – Basic Science Investigations of NF1 Tumors

Rebecca Dodd, Ph.D. – Would you like to better understand the various tumors that affect patients with neurofibromatosis type 1? Join us for this one-hour session where Dr. Rebecca Dodd will lead a detailed discussion on plexiform neurofibromas, MPNSTs and more.

Tuesday, May 30th (12pm ET) – Pain in Neurofibromatosis (NF), NF2-Related Schwannomatosis and Schwannomatosis (SWN)

Frank Buono, Ph.D. Associate Research Scientist in the Department of Psychiatry in Yale School of Medicine & Dale Berg, Patient Advocate Volunteer – Are you interested in learning more about how pain affects patients with NF and allied disorders? Dr. Buono will be talking about assessing and understanding pain. We will also hear from the patient perspective.
